Ranbir Kapoor‘s much-awaited wedding took place last month in an intimate ceremony but their wedding news had stormed the nation. The duo tied the knot at Ranbir‘s Bandra house, Vastu keeping all the details of their grand wedding under wraps until the big day.
Now, speaking to an entertainment portal, Ranbir’s mother Neetu Kapoor has revealed that the couple was initially planning for a destination wedding in South Africa in 2020. At that time special wedding functions were planned at Alia‘s Panvel bungalow, too. But due to the pandemic and several other factors, those plans did not come to be.
They finally got married in a low-key ceremony in presence of family and close ones on April 14. Neetu has also revealed that both Ranbir and Alia didn’t want any circus around their marriage, so things were kept really quiet only revealing that it was an engagement party.
The veteran actor also revealed that the entire wedding and the pre-wedding rituals were like a dream. She further gave a peek into the low-key wedding details saying that there were only 40 guests on the wedding day and 40 friends during the wedding reception afterward.
Meanwhile, on the work front, the newly-married couple will soon be seen sharing the screen space for the first time in Ayan Mukherji’s ‘Brahmastra’ which releases this year in September. The film also has Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna Akkineni in key roles.
