The most awaited teaser of the fifth installment of the Malayalam investigative franchise, ‘CBI 5: The Brain’ is here! The teaser gives a glimpse of CBI officers Sethurama Iyer (Mammootty), and his associate Chacko (Mukesh) investigating a sensitive case. The teaser also mentions the deaths of politicians Sanjay Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, and Rajiv Gandhi, and seems like the case Sethurama Iyer is investigating has something in a common with it. Even 17 years after the fourth installment Sethurama Iyer’s charisma stands out throughout the teaser, all thanks to Mammootty! And needless to say, he hasn’t aged or lost his meticulousness, and has only gotten better like wine. The teaser promises a nail-biting investigative thriller ahead and the glimpse has left the movie buffs excited, wanting to catch the film in the cinemas as soon as possible.

Directed by K Madhu, and written by SN Swamy, ‘CBI 5: The Brain’ is the fifth installment of the popular investigative franchise. The past four movies from the franchise are ‘Oru CBI Diary Kurippu’, ‘Jagratha’, ‘Sethurama Iyer CBI’, and, ‘Nerariyan CBI’, of which the fourth was released in 2005.

Mammootty is reprising the role of Sethurama Iyer, the CBI officer, while Mukesh and Jagathy are reprising their roles of Chacko and Vikram respectively in the ‘CBI 5: The Brain’.


Actors Renji Panicker, Sai Kumar, Soubin Shahir, Ramesh Pisharadi, Anoop Menon, Dileesh Pothen, Ravi Kumar, Harish Raju, Edavela Babu, Sudev Nair, Prasanth, Alexander, Ramesh Kottayam, Jayakrishnan, Prathap Pothen, Suresh Kumar, Chandhu Karamana, Azees Nedumangad, Santhosh Keezhattur, Asha Sarath, Kaniha, Ansiba, Malavika Menon, and, Malavika Nair, have roped in to play supporting roles in the upcoming film.

Meanwhile, ‘CBI 5: The Brain’ is said to be based on the basket killings, and the audience are eagerly waiting to catch the film on the big screens.
