Apparently, the Akhil Bharatiya Veer Gurjar Mahasabha has a problem with the depiction of the 12th century warrior king. The organisation stated that, Prithviraj was was a Gurjar and should be portrayed as such in the film, and not as a Rajput, else the Mahasabha would not permit its release.
The Mahasabha’s Rajasthan state president, Manish Bhargad, claimed that his organisation had met the film’s producer last year and even brought him the historic evidence over the issue to rectify the facts in his film. He also added that the producer had assured the Mahasabha that nothing against the community would be shown in the film.
Speaking of Karni Sena’s plead, the community has demanded that the film’s title be changed to include the word ‘Samrat’ before ‘Prithviraj’. They want the film title of the film to be Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan. The organisation has said that it would not permit the film’s release in Rajasthan if the title was not altered.
Helmed by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, Prithviraj is slated for release on 3rd June.
